Estate of Jacques Lipchitz*
*We are honored that the Jacques Lipchitz Estate has generously donated a collection of signed lithographs, to be given as gifts to each Fall Fête 2023 dinner guest as a token of our appreciation.
Celebrated artist Jacques Lipchitz (Druskieniki, Lithuania, 1891 – Capri, Italy, 1973) is a key figure of the 20th century avant-garde. His work appears in the permanent collections of many major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Tate Gallery in London, the Museum of Rotterdam, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. His public work is present in numerous cities all over the world. Of his work, “the sense of movement created by the interpenetration of forms and volumes, the feeling of lightness and of weight, the kinds of schematic narrative, speak to us, in their difficult yet attractive forms, of the force of human action and of the struggle for a better, more sincere world.” - Kosme de Barañano
